Jericho is an award-winning Birmingham charity and a family of seven social enterprises that provide supported work opportunities, primarily for marginalised young people and survivors of modern slavery.

Jericho impact in 2023–2024:

  • 227 people supported.

  • £2 million generated in social value.

  • 84% of work placement participants progress into employment, education, or another positive pathway.

Created a wide range of custom insect habitat signs, planters, and houses that support and strengthen the local ecosystem.

RECYCLE

630 tonnes recycled into woodchip, used in the manufacture of particleboard, animal bedding, or as carbon-neutral fuel in power stations.

REUSE

318.6 tonnes reused for DIY, building projects, firewood, and a wide range of handcrafted products.

REFUSE

We prioritise materials that already exist, refused unnecessary waste, and avoid the use of virgin wood

REDUCE

430 tonnes CO2 reduced.

Inspired young people to take action for a greener future by running hands-on workshops where they create bird and insect habitats that support local wildlife.

Social impact

Supported 16 people, including five survivors of modern slavery 100% of those who completed their project progressed into a positive outcome, and we generated an estimated £200,000 in social value.
